Locksmith Job FAQS

Can I get a locksmith job with no experience?
Yes. Our Apprentice Locksmith role is built for people with no experience. You learn on real jobs alongside senior technicians and are paid while you train.
Not your own. In Maryland the locksmith business holds the license, and each employee is fingerprinted and registered under it. We handle the registration paperwork after you accept an offer.
It depends on the specialty. Residential basics like lockouts and rekeying come first; commercial hardware, access control and car key programming take longer to master. Our apprentices typically work toward a technician role in 3 months.
Our technicians drive to service calls for homes, businesses and property managers: opening lockouts, rekeying and replacing locks, installing high-security and keypad locks, repairing doors and closers, and setting up master key systems.
You’ll be based at our Silver Spring, MD office and work across Montgomery County, Baltimore, Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Washington DC and Northern Virginia.

For technician, installer and automotive roles, yes, because the work is mobile. Office roles like dispatch don’t require one.
