We had a great experience with King Locksmith and Doors. They were professional, prompt, and knowledgeable from start to finish. They took the time to explain everything, completed the job efficiently, and made sure everything was working perfectly before they left. It’s clear they care about their customers and take pride in their work. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, honest, and high-quality locksmith service. Thank you again!
Big shout out to technician Vernon. I ran into an unexpected problem in changing the code on an older lock that I have successfully done a couple dozen times in the past 20 years. I called King Locksmith and they sent me Vernon. Although not familiar with my old lock, he had the expertise to find the info he needed to resolve my issue. Not only was he very competent, he has very good customer service manners and accepted my attempts to be helpful.
A neighbor recommended this company for trickier doors in an older house. Mightily impressed by Vernon, master locksmith, a new hire at King Locksmith and Doors, who was knowledgeable and personable. He was able to reinstall a lever and lock that had been removed by a handyman (who then could not figure out how to put it back in), and bring it back to full function, thereby securing a whole area of the house. Vernon also assessed other doors and locks that have been giving us trouble, outlining the process for repairing and replacing each. We will be using King Locksmith and Doors again, and requesting Vernon when we do!
Their professionalism and customer service is superb. This team will follow up regarding status of technician name and arrival times, delivery of parts ordered, etc. From the moment you call you are treated with respect and courtesy. They did an outstanding job.
King Locksmith and Doors did an amazing job installing my new screen door! The whole team was professional, on time, and very easy to work with. They helped me choose the right screen door for my home, and the installation came out perfect. Everything looks clean, fits great, and works smoothly. You can tell they really care about the quality of their work. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely use King Locksmith and Doors again for future projects!
King Locksmith never disappoints!!! I hired them for the second time after an amazing experience a few years ago. Hard to believe that they could improve, but their service — and their team — has only gotten better! From first contact on the phone (and I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely, helpful woman I spoke with who arranged the serrvice call super promptly) to the actual service less than 24 hours later, King Locksmith is stellar!!! Vernon, the locksmith who performed the work at my house, was phenomenal. Not only did he address the problem with my lock, he went above and beyond devising an elegant solution to what could could have been a slap-dab job had it not been performed by a professional like Vernon. He is a true asset to the King Locksmith team! You’re lucky to have him! Highly recommend King Locksmith!
We couldn’t turn our knob inside or outside to enter or exit. King Locksmith saved the day on a Saturday no less🤗 This is the third time I’ve used them. They are definitely my go to for locksmiths in a lockout or if you just need to change the locks.
I had such a wonderful experience with King Locksmith and Doors Inc. This is the first time I’ve used their services, and they truly exceeded my expectations. My most recent project was a major storefront door repair after a burglary. The glass was broken, the lock was badly damaged, and the door was almost falling off the hinges. From the moment I contacted King Locksmith and Doors, they professionally walked me through the entire process and provided upfront pricing with no surprises. The very same day, they sent two skilled and professional technicians who completed the work efficiently and within the timeframe they promised. The replacement glass arrived within a week, and they returned exactly as scheduled to install it. They handled everything with great care, responsibility, and professionalism. What really stood out to me was how smooth and stress-free they made the entire process. Their communication, professionalism, and attention to detail gave me confidence from start to finish. I will definitely continue using their services for any door or lock issues in the future. Thank you very much to the entire team at King Locksmith and Doors Inc. for making everything simple and stress-free!
This is the 2nd time in a few years I have used King Locksmith. Always a great job in my experience. This time they repaired a bi-fold door that wouldn’t stay in its track. Technician came the same day and was able to fix it. So nice not to have the door wobbling around anymore.
Doors do not wait for business hours. Whether you are stranded outside a Volta Place carriage house at 2 a.m. or your Grace Street shop key snapped at opening, our mobile units roll fast, typically reaching Georgetown addresses within 20 to 50 minutes with cutting and programming equipment already onboard.
Front door shut behind you on a P Street rowhouse? We open it without drilling your original hardware, protecting the historic brass you cannot easily replace.
Locked out of a unit near Washington Harbour or the Georgetown Park condos? We handle building entry doors, unit deadbolts, and stubborn keyless entry pads.
Suites above M Street NW go quiet after six. Our commercial techs unlock glass doors, hollow metal doors, and electric strike systems without damaging the frame.
Boutiques along Cady's Alley and Wisconsin Avenue cannot afford a lost morning. We open aluminum storefront doors and roll-up gates fast so you serve customers on schedule.
Keys sealed inside on Prospect Street or in a Water Street garage? We pop doors and trunks on cars, SUVs, and vans using no-damage techniques.
Old cylinders on Dumbarton Street snap keys constantly. We extract every fragment, then rekey or replace the cylinder so it never strands you again.
Lost a keyring on the C&O Canal towpath or handed keys to a former tenant? Same-day rekeying restores control of your doors before nightfall.
After forced entry, we reinforce split jambs, install security strike plates, and secure your opening the same night so your property is never left standing open.

Local knowledge, honest quotes, real credentials, and door hardware built to survive Georgetown’s humidity, foot traffic, and historic frames.
Twenty-five years of service calls taught us this neighborhood’s quirks. We know which 33rd Street doors swell shut in August, how tight the alleys run behind O Street, and where to stage a van when M Street NW is gridlocked. That familiarity is why 20007 households keep our number saved.
You hear the full price on the phone, not after the work is done. No inflated after-hours surcharges for a Q Street lockout, no surprise trip fees for reaching the far end of Reservoir Road. Our flat, itemized quotes cover labor, parts, and travel across the entire historic district.
A real person picks up, confirms your cross street, and sends the nearest technician. Because Georgetown sits outside Metro’s rail network and parking is scarce, we route around Key Bridge backups and Canal Road congestion to hold our 20 to 50 minute response window.
Every King Locksmiths technician working your Georgetown property carries full Washington DC licensing, bonding, and insurance, so your home or business is protected before the first tool comes out. We hold ALOA certifications and belong to the Safe and Vault Technicians Association, and we have earned local service awards across the District. Those credentials matter when you are handing someone access to a Dumbarton Oaks-area residence or a leasing office.
We stock and install the grades that hold up here: Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, ASSA ABLOY, Schlage Primus and Everest, Yale Commercial, SARGENT, Corbin Russwin, and BEST SFIC. For smart lock installation, we carry Schlage Encode, Yale, August, Kwikset Halo, and Apple Home Key compatible models. Georgetown’s Old Georgetown Board reviews exterior changes visible from the street, so we source period-correct finishes that satisfy preservation expectations without weakening your security.
Accredited Hands, Grade 1 Hardware: Within sight of Healy Hall or anywhere in Georgetown, DC, our ALOA-certified team installs Grade 1 hardware correctly the first time. Call King Locksmiths or request service online.

From Federal-era mortise repair on 31st Street to key fob programming behind the Georgetown Park garage, we cover residential, commercial, and automotive work throughout 20007 and 20057. One licensed company, one call, and hardware we actually stock on the truck.
Georgetown’s roughly 4,400 households live in rowhouses, carriage houses, converted flats, and estates that were built long before modern hardware existed. We restore antique mortise and rim locks on Federal and Victorian doors, install Grade 1 deadbolts that fit narrow historic stiles, and rekey after a purchase, a renovation, or a lost house key. Sticking doors near Montrose Park and Volta Park usually need alignment and strike work, not a full replacement, and we will tell you which one you actually need.
Whether your door sits on Cox’s Row or in a converted flat, our Georgetown, DC technicians diagnose before they quote. Call King Locksmiths or schedule your home visit online.
Georgetown carries more than 5.5 million square feet of retail and office space across 450-plus buildings, plus embassies, university facilities, medical suites near MedStar Georgetown, and federal-adjacent offices. We service aluminum storefront doors on M Street NW, panic bars and door closers required for fire-rated exits, and master key systems for multi-tenant buildings. Staff turnover, a lease change, or a failed exit device gets handled without shutting you down for the day.
Schools, clinics, and federal-adjacent suites near the Duke Ellington School of the Arts need documented access control. Our licensed Georgetown, DC team delivers it. Call King Locksmiths or request service online.
Street parking here is tight and garages fill early, so a lost car key on Thomas Jefferson Street derails your whole day. Our mobile automotive units come to your space, whether that is a metered spot on 34th Street, a residential permit block near Hardy Middle School, or the deck under Georgetown Park. We cut laser keys, program transponders and push-to-start proximity fobs, replace worn ignitions, and open locked doors and trunks without scratching paint.

Most Georgetown calls are covered in 20 to 50 minutes. Our dispatchers know the neighborhood’s traffic patterns and one-way alleys, so we route around the M Street and Wisconsin Avenue crush instead of sitting in it.
Yes. Restoring original mortise locks, skeleton key mechanisms, and brass hardware is one of our specialties. Because the Old Georgetown Act of 1950 places exterior changes visible from public space under Old Georgetown Board review, we prioritize repairing and matching your existing hardware wherever it is safe to do so.
Almost always. Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing cylinder so old keys stop working, and it costs far less than new hardware. We recommend replacement only when a lock is worn beyond repair or fails to meet the security grade your door needs.
We are licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington DC, carry ALOA membership, and belong to the Safe and Vault Technicians Association. Our technicians can present credentials on arrival, and property managers can request documentation for their files.
We install and configure WiFi, Bluetooth, and Matter compatible models, plus fingerprint and PIN entry systems. Older Georgetown doors often need a strike or bore adjustment first, which we handle during the same visit rather than sending you back to the store.
You get a firm quote over the phone before we dispatch, covering labor, travel, and any parts. There are no separate after-hours markups for nights, weekends, or holidays anywhere inside the neighborhood.
Call King Locksmiths immediately. We perform emergency board-up coordination, door and frame repair, jamb reinforcement, security strike plate installation, and same-night rekeying so your home or storefront is locked and defensible before you leave it.
We are a leading door hardware brand supplier in Washington DC and stock Grade 1 commercial and high security residential products on our trucks. If you have already purchased hardware, we are glad to install it, and we will flag anything that will not hold up on a Georgetown door.
